Do you sometimes think about whether your home is really secure or not? An adequate family security tool will help in preventing such dangers and even alert emergency response teams should something happen. You need to take care in picking the most suitable home alarm monitoring system to fit your needs. As varied as families are, every one needs a separate home protection system. You’ll have to review your home needs, including your available funds. Do you have a garage joined to your house? Are your fittings using gas? The danger of carbon monoxide poisoning is heightened if this is the case and will be the highest priority when you choose your family security monitoring tool. For older people, or those more at risk, you can choose an emergency tool which contacts the emergency services should a accident occur. Do you have any small children? A video surveillance tool should be ideal for watching the childcare professionals you make use of. Home alarm systems have many degrees which you should take into consideration when buying one. A larger degree of protection can be gained by installing a covert security camera tool, because nobody knows that it’s there in the first place. The utmost tier of security can be had by implementing a heavy-duty monitoring system featuring fingerprint identification and retina technology. Superior home alarm monitoring systems offer more than just visual surveillance. You could deploy a network of impact, glass smash, motion and vibration detectors that will call the authorities immediately the second an unauthorized entry is attempted on your house. Installing a panic switch on your alarm monitoring system will genuinely ease your worries. Just activating the button sends an alarm to the emergency services if anything awful happens. The authorities should then be sent to help you, or the monitoring company will get in touch with you to discover what the problem is, depending on which options you decided on when you bought the alarm system. There are plenty of great home security web logs on the net which you can have a look at where you should also find more tips and information. If you think about all of the different pros and cons of every alarmed protection monitoring system then the right family security tool for your home and kin will become obvious. This is certainly something you should do if you want protection for your home and kin and will offer you a sense of peace. Posted in Security Tips + More, Unassigned | Comments Off

| April 13th, 2008 | Security Camera Evaluation - Optaplex MCD12V |
Today we are going to be evaluating another security camera product manufactured by the Optaplex Corporation. This product is the MCD12V Security Camera. The kind people at Esentia Systems has volunteered to provide us with this product to evaluate, free of charge - provided that we do not blow up, melt or otherwise destroy this product within the testing phase. On the outset, the MCD12V is an indoor, color dome camera that is described by the factory as a, “no frills, typical indoor dome security camera”. We found this to be the case, as it simply looks like every other security camera of its class. We found that the MCD12V security dome camera is equipped with a genuine Sony 1/3 CCD circuit - which is good since we have found that many other products supply their product with inferior CCD circuits. ( Editorial side note: You would not believe how many manufacturers literally lie about the use of the Sony CCD circuit. If you do not open the security camera to visually verify the CCD, it could be anything. ) We tested the unit in a variety of conditions that are warranted within the operating instructions as outlined by the manufacturer. The camera is rated for indoor use only and is well suited for a wide range of potential applications such as convenient stores, gas stations, home & office use just to name a few. We were able to verify that the TVL or “Television Lines Resolution” was exactly 420 - as stated by the factory. We were also able to confirm that the lens that is supplied with the MCD12V is also a 3.6mm fixed lens with all glass optics. The LUX rating that was listed on the camera, .05, was precisely as indicated by the factory. So far, we are right on target and everything that we have been testing has rung true with the MCD12V - no Testing the MCD12V against the Cop 15-CD35 At first glance, both cameras appear to be the exact same -however our testing found amazing results which we hope security professionals will benefit from. Getting right into the differences between the Optaplex MCD12V and the Cop 15-CD35, we notice many differences. The MCD12V utilizes a genuine Sony CCD which makes the image color more rich and bright when compared to the Cop 15-CD35. After examining the CCD on the Cop 15-CD35, we discovered that it was a no-name, generic brand of CCD to which the end result is a vastly lower quality picture. Upon making a few phone calls to friends in the distribution business we further learned that the Cop 15-CD35 had an unusually high failure & return rate when compared to other cameras of its class. We do not like to beat around the bush with political correctness when conducting a product evaluation, so we will end the review with this -The Optaplex MCD12V is an honest product for the price. You can trust what you are getting with this product. |

| April 2nd, 2008 | Tropical Hurricane Storm Depression Florence |
Oh Florence how have you been, long time no see, glad you could stop buy. I see you are having a bad hair day and want to mess mine up too? Why, oh Florence what did I ever do to you? I realize Mother Nature wishes to teach humans a lesson and whose boss, but we live upon an sand bar and we already won the toss. We did not choose to receive this Tropical Storm Hurricane pain, oh dear Florence won’t you stop this now, as this is insane. So far in the Hurricane Season we have already had Alberto, Beryl, Chris, Ernesto and now you? Why are you doing this, what did we do? We are early in the season still and already on the “F’s” you see. We can no longer pay afford these storms, insurances or the fees. Evacuation mandatory again, but we thought that Mother Nature is our friend. Are we living in the end of times is this really the end? Florence you are already blowing at over 100 kts and folks that is a lot of hot wind. The ocean sea temps and climate change are to blame. But Hurricane Florence can you cut us some slack without destroying us all, have you no shame? They say it will be bad says the NOAA, Hurricane Hunters and National Hurricane Center. When will this all be over again, why can’t it be Winter? President Bush and his brother too, have warned us of the danger and destruction. But Florence my dear we are still re-building from last year, can’t you see all this construction? ![]() “Lance Winslow” - Online Think Tank forum board.
