May 1st, 2008 Lingerie Shopping Anxiety Solved

Lingerie shopping can be intimidating in many ways to both men
and women. For men, lingerie shopping can be embarrassing. For
women, it is often about self-image and self-esteem. Whether you
are plus-sized or looking for smaller sizes, the experience of
lingerie shopping does not have to be a bad one.

The best way to do lingerie shopping, without having to look a
salesperson in the eye or look at the person next to you and
what he or she is grabbing off the rack, is online. Online lingerie shopping can
help you avoid many of the uncomfortable aspects of buying such
apparel. To do your lingerie shopping online, it is best to try
to find a website that is easy to use, comfortable, and
informative. Find a site that has good search capability so that
it doesn’t turn into a day-long task. Check out the site’s
customer service options along with shipping costs, how discrete
the shipping is, and of course how much their items costs in
comparison to other online retailers.

In some cases, lingerie shopping is a step in preparation for a
special occasion. In this case, there are things you need to
keep in mind. For one, make sure that anything you have to
special order or purchase online is done early enough so that
the items arrive on time. When lingerie shopping, check to see
if the retailer carries most items in stock. You may want to
keep to the places that stock the items so you don’t have to
plan for stocking or can simply plan for ship time, and no wait.
Just to be safe, it may even be advisable to do your lingerie
shopping first, get the items you want, and then plan your
special evening or occasion.

Another thing to keep in mind when lingerie shopping, and you
should especially keep this in mind if you are shopping for
someone else, is current trends in the industry. For instance,
many sites are reporting that there is a huge trend toward
corsets recently. When looking for something like a corset, be
sure you understand what qualities are best in such a piece. For
example, most lingerie shopping experts advise that a corset is
best if the boning in it is metal. Plastic boning, apparently,
is not as practical and thus lacks the firm hold you can get
from metal boning in corsets.

Lingerie shopping can also be a way of building a relationship.
Men and women can do this together, which can be enlightening
and can heat things up in anticipation of the night’s events. It
is a chance for the man to go lingerie shopping without feeling
awkward, at the same time, the woman can go to find out what he
likes and what he wants her to buy and try. Couple lingerie
shopping can also be a way of supporting one another through
what is often an uncomfortable process for both.

Lingerie shopping can be difficult and uncomfortable for both
men and women. However, it is the only way to obtain items for
those special evenings. It is good thing, then, that there are
ways to make it easier. You can do your lingerie shopping online
in an effort to avoid sales people, other customers whose body
you envy or, for the men, the feeling of being in the wrong
place. The other option is supporting one another by lingerie
shopping as a couple. No matter what your manner of coping is,
lingerie shopping can be fun and enjoyable, if only for the end
result of the work.

April 14th, 2008 Women of the Net

Women of the Net by Cathy Bryant Copyright 2002
http://www.homebizjunction.com

Two years ago, when I had been working online about a year, an
online colleague approached me about writing an article for a
special edition of his newsletter which was to feature
successful women online. Naturally, I agreed.

As I was researching for the article, I read a statistic that
revealed that women over 50 were one of the fastest growing
groups of internet users. That didn’t surprise me, as at the
time I was approaching that “golden age” and had contact with
others online who were also in that age group.

All these women were using the vehicle of the internet to earn
an income online - and the numbers were growing every day.

So I wrote the article, and it was published not only in my
colleague’s newsletter but many others as well.

Now, two years later, I realize that the things I discussed in
that article are as relevant today as they were two years ago
when the article was first published - and we all know that for
anything to stay current online for two years it must be
significant!

For that reason, I feel that they bear repeating again. After
all, there are an untold number of women - in this age group as
well as younger - who have entered the world of internet
business since that first article was published two years ago.

So what did I reveal in that article? Consider this…

Women of ALL ages have made a conscious decision to tackle the
complexities of technology in order to achieve their own goals
and aspirations, whatever they may be.

What is it about the internet that is so appealing to women?
It’s quite obvious, actually. The internet is a massively large
vehicle for what? Communication. And what do women generally do
better than men? You got it…communicate!

Look around, and you see women everywhere online. And what else
do you see? Sites created by women - providing every type of
information, service, or opportunity you can imagine.

Who are these women? People you know -

- Young mothers working from home in order to be there with
their children

- Former corporate executives using skills learned on the job to
create their own successful businesses online

- Empty nesters who find themselves embracing the technology of
their children’s generation

- Young women just out of school who have chosen the career path
of entrepreneur and are using the internet to achieve those
dreams

Each is different - but you can be sure that all these women
have certain characteristics in common. They have the
determination to tackle the often confusing technology of the
internet, and they have the passion it takes to accomplish their
goals.

And succeed they do - in large numbers!

April 8th, 2008 Breast Augmentation Basics

Breast augmentation has been the subject of much debate, and
much has been said for and against it. Understanding the
definition is, therefore, important. Breast augmentation,
technically known as augmentation mammoplasty, is usually
carried out to increase breast volume (by one or two bra cup
sizes) and enhance its shape following surgery. Often, after
weight loss, childbirth, or simply due to aging, breasts lose
volume and shape. Also, many women go for breast enlargement in
order to have a fuller bustline. Breast augmentation can be
performed at any age after the breasts are developed; however,
federal regulation prohibits this procedure for women below 18
years of age if it’s done for aesthetic reasons alone. Breast
tissue and skin is lifted to create a pocket for each implant.
The implant is generally inserted directly under the breast
tissue or beneath the chest wall muscle. The surgical incisions
are made in the breast crease, around the nipple, or in the
armpit to keep scars as inconspicuous as possible. After
surgery, breasts appear fuller and more natural in tone and
contour. Scars fade with time. It’s also vital to know about
breast implant material and the process. Breast implants are
generally silicone shells filled with either silicone gel or
sterile saline water. Concerns regarding the safety of silicone
breast implants have also given rise to some other gel-filled
implants.

Advantage of using a saline-filled implant is that it requires
only a small incision (less than an inch) underneath the breast,
just above the crease, for implantation. Another possible
location for the incision is around the lower edge of the areola
(pigmented skin area surrounding the nipple). A third
alternative is a small incision within the armpit where a pocket
is created behind the breast tissue or underneath the pectoral
muscle for the implant to be inserted.

The positive aftereffects of breast augmentation are numerous.
Among these are: •Positive aesthetic results and substantial
psychological boost. •Quick return to normal activities •No risk
of breast cancer, autoimmune disease, or any systemic illness.
•No negative effect on pregnancy or ability to breast-feed.

The negative aftereffects include:

•Changes in nipple or breast sensation. •Post surgery,
tightening of the scar may cause the breast to feel firmer than
normal. •Breast implants are temporary and saline implant
rupture is normal, the contents being absorbed.

•Pregnancy can alter breast size and affect the long-term
results of breast augmentation. After all is said and done,
breast augmentation is a very personal decision. However, it
does improve the sense of a woman’s self-fulfillment, and has
been shown to increase women’s confidence through a better
self-image. If a woman has made an informed decision and has
fully accepted the risks and responsibility of such a surgical
procedure, breast augmentation can indeed be a positive
experience.

April 3rd, 2008 Labour - How To Prepare Yourself!

Everyone has a horror story to tell you. From the moment you
become pregnant, close friends, family and even strangers will
have a birth experience to share with you. If it’s negative,
it’s just what you don’t need. Most of us are absolutely
terrified of a horrible labour ordeal, so here we tell you how
to prepare yourself! There is no hiding the truth, labour
absolutely does hurt, like nothing you have ever felt before in
your life! But we survive it and believe it or not even forget
about the pain we went through.

One of the best ways to prepare yourself for labour is to know
what to expect. Go to your ante-natal classes at the hospital
and do view the video. Yes you will squirm and be frightened,
however you will know what will probably happen when you go into
labour.

It’s okay to ask friends who have been through the experience
but speak to the ones who will be most honest with you and not
just embellish the story to create a real drama!

Speak to your midwife or Obstetrician and even read magazines
such as Practical Parenting where they have real life
experiences as told by their readers.

Learn about your pain relief options and decide on what will be
best for you and remember to list it in your birth plan. Most
hospitals will allow you to bring some comforts from home such
as aromatherapy–soothing oils to massage or burn in the room or
even relaxing music.

Importantly, don’t get tense about going into labour. You will
only make it worse for yourself. A tense pregnant mum is setting
herself up for a long and painful labour as it will make all
your muscles tight and difficult for your baby to emerge. Enlist
your birth partner in helping you to relax and try to enjoy this
magical moment!
